      Over Two Decades of Experience

Niagara Roofmasters has been installing and replacing insulation in homes for over 25 years. Our experience enables us to quickly identify heat loss issues and recommend the most suitable insulation options. Regardless of the size of your attic, we can recommend and install efficient insulation to prevent heat loss, moisture intrusion, and improve energy efficiency.

      Professional Insulation Installation

Before we begin the insulation work, we perform a thorough inspection. Our team checks insulation levels, ventilation needs, any air leakage, and moisture issues. Our detailed approach ensures the insulation upgrade is effective, safe, and designed to last for decades. Whenever you need a professional to upgrade your attic space insulation, we’re ready to help.

      Quality Insulation Materials for Efficiency

At Niagara Roofmasters, we recommend options that meet Ontario’s insulation industry requirements (R-60). R-value is the level of insulation material’s resistance to heat loss or flow. A high R-value indicates that a specific material has superior insulation properties. When you choose us to insulate your attic, you can expect highly efficient insulation.

      In-House Insulation Installation Team

Niagara Roofmasters doesn’t outsource insulation work to third parties or subcontractors. Our team comprises certified and experienced installers who can seal air leaks, protect ventilation paths, and ensure your insulation prevents unwanted heat loss or heat gain. Remember, your project will be handled by specialists, not novice roofers.

Upgrade Your Attic Insulation for Higher Energy Efficiency

Before recommending any insulation material, we’ll first assess its R-value and ensure that its insulation properties match your attic’s requirements. Additionally, we’ll assess the existing insulation and recommend targeted repairs or complete replacement. At Niagara Roofmasters, we offer attic insulation services involving the following types of insulation.

      Blown Insulation

Blow-in insulation, also known as loose-fill insulation, is composed of fine fiberglass particles that form a uniform layer of thermal protection. It is particularly effective in attics with unusual shapes, tight crawl spaces, or uneven surfaces.

This insulation material settles smoothly into areas where other insulation types may not fit. This makes it an effective option for older homes or attic spaces with limited accessibility. At Niagara Roofmasters, we utilize professional-grade blowing equipment to ensure that insulation is placed in the correct spaces and at the recommended density.

It’s crucial to note that the correct insulation density is important because certain loose-fill materials can settle over time. When settling occurs, the insulation level may drop, affecting its thermal performance.

Our experienced team prevents this by installing the right amount of insulating material and ensuring consistent coverage across the entire attic. Here are the benefits of blow-in insulation for attics.

      • Ideal for irregular or hard-to-reach areas in your attic
      • Provides even and consistent coverage
      • Helps improve the energy efficiency of your attic and entire home
      • Works well for attic upgrades and top-ups

      Spray Foam Insulation

Spray foam insulation, particularly closed-cell spray foam, is known for its strong insulating properties and exceptional air sealing capabilities. It expands on contact to form a dense and durable layer that prevents warm or cool air from escaping your home. Note that spray foam expands to seal small cracks, gaps, and openings. This prevents drafts and helps stabilize indoor temperatures.

Due to its high R-value per inch, it is one of the most efficient attic insulation materials available for homes in Fort Erie. At Niagara Roofmasters, we often recommend spray foam insulation for attics with moisture concerns and air leakage issues.

Closed-cell spray foam also adds strength to the building structure and creates a barrier against moisture intrusion. This helps prevent mold, frost buildup, and other problems caused by trapped humidity in the attic.

With our professional attic insulation and careful installation process, Fort Erie homeowners can expect safe and long-lasting insulation that meets Ontario’s insulation standards. If you need a trusted partner to assess your attic hatch and install insulation, request a free quote today.

      Batt Insulation

Batt attic insulation is made of fiberglass and comes in pre-cut sheets or rolls designed to fit between attic joists and framing. It is one of the most common insulation materials due to its affordability and reliable performance when installed correctly. Batt insulation works well for attics with open areas, straight framing, and spaces where precise panel placement is possible.

Although batt insulation is effective, it must be installed carefully to ensure optimal performance. Gaps, compression, or misalignment can reduce its insulating properties. This can compromise your home’s energy efficiency. Fortunately, our trained installers ensure each section fits tightly without being crushed.

While batt insulation does not provide the same level of air sealing as spray foam, proper installation can reduce unwanted heat loss and improve overall comfort. Here are the benefits of batt attic insulation.

      • Cost-effective insulation option
      • Quick and efficient installation
      • Reliable thermal performance when installed correctly
      • Ideal for attics with accessible and even framing

It may be tempting to install batt insulation yourself. However, this can lead to poor insulation, resulting in higher heating costs and uneven temperatures within your home. Our team can do an excellent job regardless of the insulation you intend to install.

What are the Telltale Signs You Need Attic Insulation?

If your attic and upper rooms feel like saunas, especially during sweltering summers, your attic may be to blame. Let our team inspect your attic and determine whether poor insulation may be the reason behind the sudden high energy bills you’re paying lately. Here are the signs you need attic insulation services.

      Uneven Indoor Temperatures

If some rooms feel warmer or colder than others, your attic may not be adequately insulated. Heat can escape through thin or poorly installed insulation materials, which creates temperature differences throughout your home. This issue becomes more noticeable during cold winters or hot summers.

      Unexplained Increase in Energy Bills

A sudden increase in heating or cooling costs often indicates that your attic is allowing conditioned air to escape. When insulation is old or ineffective, your HVAC system must work harder to maintain a comfortable indoor environment. This not only increases your energy costs but also puts unnecessary strain on your equipment.

      Drafts or Cold Spots

Drafts or localized cold areas within your home indicate air movement through gaps or inadequate insulation. These issues are common near ceilings, upper floors, and attic access points. Luckily, proper attic insulation can help create a consistent air barrier, preventing cold air from entering and warm air from escaping.

      Moisture, Frost, or Condensation

Moisture problems in the attic can signal poor insulation or inadequate ventilation. Condensation, frost buildup, or damp insulation materials can lead to mold, wood rot, and structural damage. These issues often develop during winter when warm indoor air escapes into a cold attic.

      Aging or Compressed Insulation

Insulation naturally settles and compresses over time, reducing its ability to resist heat transfer. Older materials may no longer meet Ontario’s recommended R-60 standards, leaving your attic underperforming. If your insulation looks thin, uneven, or deteriorated, you may need to replace or install more insulation.

What’s the Cost of Attic Insulation in Fort Erie?

The average cost of insulating an attic using R-60 insulation materials ranges from $2.50 to $5.00 per square foot. This includes the cost of labour and materials. Suppose you intend to insulate a 1,000-square-foot attic space using spray foam insulation, expect to pay between $4,000 and $6,000.

Fiberglass batt rolls would cost between $2,500 and $4,000, while blow-in cellulose would cost between $2,000 and $3,500. Here are the estimated costs of different attic insulation materials in Fort Erie, Port Colborne, and across Niagara Falls.

Insulation material Estimated cost per sq. ft
Spray foam insulation $4.00 to $6.00
      Blown-in insulation $2.00–$3.50
Fiberglass batt sheets or rolls $2.50–$4.00

Other factors that affect the total cost of adding new insulation or replacing old insulation in your attic include:

      Old Insulation Removal

If your attic contains old, damaged, or moldy insulation, it must be removed before installing new one. This additional task increases the overall cost, typically ranging from $1 to $2 per square foot. Proper removal ensures a clean, safe workspace and prevents contaminants from reducing the effectiveness of your new insulation.

      Air Sealing & Ventilation Repairs

Insulation performs best when your attic is airtight and adequately ventilated. Addressing air leaks, installing baffles, or repairing ventilation systems may increase your total project cost. These improvements prevent heat loss, control moisture, and can extend the life of your insulation materials.

      Accessibility of the Attic

The ease of access has a significant impact on labour costs. Large, open attics are faster and simpler to insulate, while cramped, irregular spaces require more time and effort. Obstacles such as low ceilings, joists, and existing equipment may slow down the insulation process. This can increase the total cost of adding insulation to your attic.

      FAQs

Do you handle air sealing and ventilation as part of the insulation process?

Yes. At Niagara Roofmasters, we identify leaks, seal gaps, and address ventilation needs to maximize the effectiveness of your preferred insulation material. Remember, proper insulation, ventilation, and air sealing will keep your attic energy-efficient and safe.

Can attic insulation prevent moisture intrusion and mold growth?

When properly installed, insulation helps regulate attic temperatures and reduces the risk of condensation. If combined with proper ventilation and air sealing, it limits moisture buildup and helps prevent mold growth. This keeps your attic dry, protects its structural components, and supports better indoor air quality throughout your home.

Is attic insulation covered by a warranty?

Yes. Every attic insulation project we complete is backed by a comprehensive workmanship warranty. This gives homeowners confidence that the installation process meets industry standards and will perform as expected. Our team also uses insulation materials that carry manufacturer warranties for added protection and long-term reliability.

Will attic space insulation help reduce energy bills?

Yes. Proper insulation minimizes heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer, which allows your HVAC system to run more efficiently. This leads to lower monthly energy costs and a more comfortable indoor environment. Over time, effective attic insulation often pays for itself through long-term energy savings and improved indoor comfort.

How long does attic insulation installation take?

Most attic insulation projects are completed within one day. However, larger homes or attics with tight spaces, moisture issues, or old insulation removal may take longer. The duration also depends on the insulation type selected. Before the insulation work begins, our team will provide a clear timeline so you know exactly what to expect during the installation process.

I had my roof replaced as well as the skylight in November 2018. I had consulted three other roofing companies in arriving at the decision to contract Niagara RoofMasters. I was impressed with the integrity of the company, best represented in my early consultations with Derek, through to completion of the work to follow up. I had the privilege of seeing work being done by Niagara RoofMasters on the homes of neighbours, as well as the quality of materials etc. I highly recommend the workmanship. All questions were responded to in a timely manner. The job was completed as promised and materials that made their way to the yard were picked up - even to extent of returning a second day just to walk through and ensure the yard was free of garbage or nails as best as possible. Was very pleased with this experience and would recommend!

Niagara roof Masters did a great job on our roof . We were quoted very quickly with a very detailed booklet with the supplies they would be using on the roof. Their quote was very reasonable with local competitors. They answered any questions I had before and after the installation. The staff were hardworking and friendly. I had recently recommend them to my Parents when they needed their roof done and they did a great job there as well. Great work everyone!

Top notch. Right from first contact via phone, to Derreck quoting job. The material and workmanship is excellent. Men are very respectful to property (we have a pool) and listened to any thoughts we had on our new roof. They even caulked an eavestrough that leaked at end cap.
